We finished our caterpillars!

In our last blog, we were telling you about the caterpillars we were making out of modelling clay. This week we managed to finish them and write about our work.  They are now on display outside our classroom. Just look at them... real art!

Highlight of the Year!

Last Thursday's trip to Tumble Jungle was probably the highlight of the year for the boys!  They had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of it. I think you will agree that the photos say it all. Have a look!

Turning our hand to pottery!

Last Friday, in our art lesson we had a first! Yes, our first experience with modelling clay.  It was so exciting.  We were each given a slab of clay and we had to sculpt out caterpillars with it.  They came out really good. They looked so life like apart from the colour.  But don't worry we will paint them next Tuesday so drop in next week and you will see the finished product!  We can't wait.

Stop, look and listen!

When we came back from the book fair a lovely lady called Ann came to visit us.  She talked about all the things we should and should not do when we are out walking on the road; never ever leave mom's or dad's side,  never play with toys on the footpath, and always 'stop, look and listen' when crossing the road.  We also learned about what we should do when travelling in the car; 'back seat, booster seat, safety belt and click'.  We played some games about these rules. From now on we are going to be so safe on the road!

Book Fair

Last Wednesday, we were at the book fair.  It was in Mr Barrett's room, so we would like to say a big thank you to him.  The room was filled with books.  We browsed through all the shelves, took down the books we liked and sat down to have a look at them.  We found books about dinosaurs, trains, pirates,  lego, animals, cooking,  and even magic!  We could have stayed there all day.  We had such fun!

Meet Bingo!

Bingo Murphy is our new friend.  He is so so cute and we are crazy about him.  We want to get to know Bingo better so every night we bring him home with us.  We play, chat, dine and do other fun stuff  with him. Then we write and draw about our adventures in Bingo's big book.  The next day we return him to the class and talk about all the fun we had.   Bingo's book is getting so big and it is so interesting to read.  We are having a ball with Bingo!

Summer.... at last!

Last week the sun began to shine.  It was actually warm and we didn't have to wear our jackets at break time.  We had to keep with this theme in our art lesson, so we decided to make summer suns and ladybirds. We did such a good job that we displayed them outside our classroom.  They really do look like the real thing!
